Damocles fencing club provides interested participants, ten years and older, in the Fredericton area with quality instruction and training support in the sport of fencing. We offer instruction in all 3 weapons (foil, epee and sabre) and are always looking to introduce new members to the sport.
Summer camp information is now available for 2012. We have information sheets and registration forms available.
July 2 to 6: 8-9 years "Foamies & Fundamentals"
July 9 to 13: 12 to 14 years "Learn to Fence"
July 16-20: 11-13 years "Fencing Development"
July 23-27: 9 to 11 years "Learn to Fence"
For anyone new to fencing, please read our Programs section to find out how you can take your first steps in the sport. For current fencers looking to join Damocles, we have a wonderful new facility that gives you more access to instruction and bouting time than ever before.
Damocles is home to instructors Evan Schriver, and Ben Newling. Barb Daniel is our head coach and is certified as a level 4 NCCP master of foil and epee. Jim Stevens has joined us from the Beaches Sabre Club and is an NCCP level 3 prevost and Aide-Moniteur in sabre. Both Barb and Jim support our competitive fencers by coaching athletes strip-side and providing private lessons.
